We want to take a look at your Cambelt!

Why?  Because your cambelt won't half break.....and you won't notice your cambelt wearing out until it's far too late.  As it snaps it can do some pretty serious damage to your engine, which means it'll be costly to repair and very inconvenient.

So, let us help you avoid the whole messy business.  Bring it into us at Epsom Automotive and we will check it out.  If you car has travelled more than 80-100,000kms without a new cambelt then we will suggest that it be replaced as a matter of course, in line with manufacturer's recommendations. 

While we've got the cambelt cover off we will also check:

Bearings, Auto Tensioners, Oil Seals, Waterpumps and Drive Belts

We will give you an honest appraisal of any additional work we think is necessary, call you with a quote and give you the option to repair or replace any parts we have identified as requiring attention. 

The cost to replace a cambelt varies by vehicle make and model, so give us a call for an estimate.  If your car is also due for a service and/or WOF then we can arrange this at the same time, and remember that we also offer free courtesy cars and/or complimentary local pick-ups.  Please request these at the time of booking.

What is a Cambelt?

A Cambelt or Timing Belt connects the crankshaft to the camshaft(s), which in turn controls the opening and closing of the engine's valves. A four-stroke engine requires that the valves open and close once every other turn of the crankshaft. The Cambelt does this. It has custom teeth to turn the camshaft(s) synchronized with the crankshaft and is specifically designed for a particular engine. In some engine designs, the timing belt may also be used to drive other engine components such as the water pump and oil pump.
